George’s head hurt. It wasn’t a pain from hitting it, however, though surely back where his body was he’d have that to look forward to as well. No, George’s head hurt from the buzz of voices in his skull, living and dead ones alike, rambling on and echoing everywhere around him. The darkening evening was usually a calm and quiet place for this side of town, but wherever he was now, this was not a comfortable place for him to be.
“You don’t know how we can get back? Phantom, I’m too joe’d for this, and we were poisoned! There’s no time, we need to split this now!”
“Look, I sai

S14 had broken down in tears quite a while ago, and was struggling to continue with her story.
“…You can stop if you want,” James interrupted.
“No,” his mother said, sobbing but attempting to calm down. “I’m almost finished, anyway. Going from Alaska, where the Project was settled, to Indianapolis was not an easy task. But I was patient and I knew that the cold was unable to stop me. Neither did the hunger, really, but nonetheless I learned to hunt animals and find tasty fruits, partially because it gave me strength and partially as a small tribute to Seven, who used to care for us eating healthy w

First of all I should start by saying this: I have lied to you, and for that I’m sorry. After you hear this, you will probably never think of me in the same way, but at this point you deserve to know the truth.
My very first memory is from when I was five years old. In it, I am repeatedly being shot by a machine gun. Back then I wasn’t exactly as powerful or accustomed to injuries as I am now. I find it a bit hard to explain you the pain caused by several bullets, but I hope you can imagine that it was really painful.
Most of my early youth was spent in a laboratory from a secret organization called Project Immortality run by a

The streets of the Inner Hub were unusually quiet that morning. True, the stores were open and every so often people would appear. Luckily, though, nobody seemed to recognize James. It would be a bit awkward if anyone spoke to him.
He wasn’t feeling very well. Recovering from Mitte’s… powers wasn’t easy. At this point he was fully aware of the fact that he had been manipulated back then. But still, the memory of walking into the increasingly softer ground, sinking little by little…
It was terrifying. And a part of him, something inside his head, had actively wanted to do it. It sent shivers down his spine. Ho

Orville walked happily down the street, practically dragging his mother behind him. It was his eighth birthday and his mother had somehow managed to clear her entire schedule to spend the day with him. At that moment, he was sure that he was the happiest boy in the world. They had just finished an early dinner at Luigi's, an Italian style restaurant where they always had some spare dessert for those special days, free of charge. Spaghetti and meatballs, and those little cream filled horns... cannolis? Yeah, that sounded right. Now, Orville was pulling Patricia to the park, where she had promised to play with him for as long as he wanted

Patron Mini Round: Aftermath
Sensations came back to Coop slowly. She was lying down on a hard surface. Her ears were ringing and she ached all over. She cracked her eyes open. Her vision danced with lights. Oh God, what happened? She sat up and her head swam. She forced herself to stay conscious, trying to piece together what had happened. She looked around at the lights in her eyes receded and saw fire shining over the river. The boat, or what was left of it, crackled in the night. The sudden realization that she had just been next to an explosion hit her and then—
"Mal!" she screamed. She could barely hear herself over the ringing in her ears. What if he hadn't

“Well, there’s Titan’s picture, along with Mr. Abacus, Mitte, Valkyrja and a couple others. Now we can definitely put this silly thing behind us.”
Rebecca threw the newspaper down on the table with that declaration and gave Ethan a pointed look. “Your face is a mess,” she muttered. He still had bruises from his scuffle with S14 but it was nothing serious.
Reaching across the plain oak boards, Ethan looked at the article himself. He’d been disheartened ever since their defeat. Entering the competition had been his idea after all. Even if she had gotten in instead of him, she knew he had seen himself
