Judge Comments - Round Three

LotusLeif VS legolass1119 5 - 0 LotusLeif: I've never seen an entry that starts out with the contestant dying (or near-dying, anyway). That's intense. I like how you're using the other characters, the ones that you no longer have an obligation to use. They have stories, too, and its good of you to help get those out. Mitte's injuries are a little confusingly written- I mean, how bad is it that he can be all stitched up, complaining about walking, and then run off alone? But overall, that's really a minor point. I'm enjoying reading these two plot threads and following them along. Your entries keep the energy up, which is good at this point

Patron End: The Grace of God, pt.4

“What now?” The question hung in the air of the Council chamber but the only answer was the hum of the fans. The teams reclined on chairs, leaned on walls, and emptied the contents of several first aid kits in treating the various injuries sustain today in course of duty. It had taken some doing to recover them all from their scatter positions, but in the end, all had survived. Dr. Gray and his man had disappeared, taking Piper with them when attention had wavered. Alex had a thin scrap of paper in his pocket though, with a vague promise that they would meet again. In time. Gods, if Dr. Gray was right, Alex had plenty of time.

Patron Round 3- Versus Mitte P1

-Caught in the Middle Part 1- “And clean up in general when you get back to the mansion, can’t have flies swarming about all the time, now can we?” The fake Lewis gave one last cold smile and then jumped out the window, making his way through the night and away from the Newman mansion. The boy, clone, whatever he said he was, slammed the window shut, curtains and all, and collapsed against the floor, obviously shaken by the man’s visit. Lewis just stared ahead. He didn’t know what to do, or even what to think at the moment. After George had told him that someone had seen “the Drade kid” heading to t

George’s head hurt. It wasn’t a pain from hitting it, however, though surely back where his body was he’d have that to look forward to as well. No, George’s head hurt from the buzz of voices in his skull, living and dead ones alike, rambling on and echoing everywhere around him. The darkening evening was usually a calm and quiet place for this side of town, but wherever he was now, this was not a comfortable place for him to be. “You don’t know how we can get back? Phantom, I’m too joe’d for this, and we were poisoned! There’s no time, we need to split this now!” “Look, I sai

Patron Round 2- Versus Rubble Rouser

-A Worm in the Apple- The moment Lewis opened his eyes he found himself to be nowhere. Or, at least what he assumed to be nowhere. There was nothing in sight for miles but an expanse of black, devoid of any life save him. No light, yet he could see himself perfectly fine. Curious, he took a few steps, the sound producing loud echoes that bounced endlessly off of invisible walls. He looked down, noticing that he was in his superhero outfit. Strange, last he checked he'd been wearing pajamas. Confused, he looked up again and turned in a circle, keeping his eyes open for anything to break the constant scenery of black. But there was nothing. H

Patron R1 Special Feature: Out of Hiding

The doctor was studying the picture in the newspaper. Even in monochrome, he was certain about it. Considering the hair, tone of the skin and eyes and body structure, a biologist of his level should know that it was her son. "The new heroes of Diesel City," the title read, before giving a picture and brief description of each one of the sixteen candidates for Patron. Only one interested him, though: The one that called himself 'Titan' who, according to the article, "was introduced to the World by S14, legendary former Patron of Indianapolis." It was hard to guess the reason, but one of his best subjects had gone out of hiding, and if that w

Darkness. What had become synonymous with heroism and righteousness had once again finally fallen into its place of villainy and questionable acts. One of these acts was taking place right now. Along the quiet coast line, whispers crept up into the night sky. Krash crept along the docks, ignoring their simple discussions. All he cared about was the prey. He'd heard from Hagar that this was a drug deal, and that's all the excuse he needed. The electrical signal coming from each body stood out in the night sky like a flare, shining a unique signature for each person. He slowly crept forward. Sailors held their caps low, and moved bags from a

Patron SE: Epilogue

“Sir! Sir, we haven’t finished the perimeter search-” “It’s fine, Ken. I honestly doubt there is a safer place in this whole county I could be.” “But-” Alex looked up at the sound of voices. Across the field, two men in suits picked their way along the farm’s dirt rut roads. The distressed man trailing behind with a pleading expression was clearly a bodyguard of some sort; Alex didn’t recognize him. The other man, tall with dusky skin and wavy dark brown hair, was familiar, making Alex smile. He slung his hoe across his shoulders and ambled across the field to meet his guests, ho
